Mrs. Danyel Watson is a devoted follower of Christ and a passionate advocate for arts education, using her gifts to glorify God and inspire others. A self-taught musician with five instruments under her belt, she has shared her love for music through more than a decade of teaching. She has had the honor of having a private lesson by world-renowned opera singer Denyce Graves, an experience that deeply shaped her artistry and commitment to excellence. While living in Washington, D.C., she served with organizations such as The Theatre Lab, The National Children’s Chorus, The Fairfax Choral Society, and ArtStream Inc.

Danyel holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from James Madison University, where she attended on a full scholarship, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with double minors in Theatre and Dance from UNC Charlotte. She currently serves as the Operations Director for the Canady Foundation for the Arts, where she strives to use her talents and leadership to help bring the theatrical arts to underserved youth of color in the DMV.
